Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance

In Principa I talk a lot about the the centrality of 3 P’s — People, Positioning and Process — to the Delta4 business system we have created, so my antenna was alerted when I heard the the 7 P’s mentioned!

This is a mantra, I’m told, that’s embraced by the US military. I heard it from a friend of mine named John Dumas who hosts an incredibly interesting podcast called entrepreneur on fire. If you want to launch your day on a positive note and pick up a bunch of ideas you can implement in your own business and share with your clients, listening to John’s interviews would be a great way to start.

But that’s not the reason for this post. I was recently listening to an interview John did with Kevin Harrington. Kevin is a phenomenally successful entrepreneur who has dominated the direct sales space with ground breaking TV infomercials and was at one time one of the guys on Shark Tank. But that’s also not the reason for this post.

The reason I’m writing about this is because of a 4 minute 32 sec slice of the interview when Kevin talked directly to something I have been trying to get through to accountants for the best part of 30 years. AND THAT IS, THE RIGHT ENTREPRENEURS NEED YOUR HELP! Listen to the interview and take particular note of what Kevin says at the 1 minute 56 second mark.

If that resonates with you, take a quick look at the webinar I recently did on the 5 Questions Advisers Usually Ask and then think of a client you have who fits the client selection criteria I described in that webinar and invite him or her into your office and replay the Kevin Harrington interview.

I’d love to hear how you go with that. Just do it!
